What you get

No fluff, no hype. Just the horses I fancy and why, in plain English.

NAP of the day

Every racing day, the one horse I'm most confident in, so you always know where my strongest view is.

Dark horse of the day

A bigger priced outsider with a real each-way chance, picked from a field big enough to pay three places.

Speed pick

The fastest horse in the race, a proven jumper, on ground that suits. Backed to win.

Each-way Super Heinz

Seven selections at the weekends and the big meetings, all in different races. Back them as an each-way Super Heinz or pick out the ones you like.

The reasons behind them

A short write-up on every pick covering form, going and trip, so you can make your own mind up.

Every result on the record

Winners and losers, every pick is settled on my public results, so you can see exactly how I'm doing.

About me

It all started with my grandad. He let me pick a horse in the 1973 Grand National, I was 8 years old and I picked Red Rum. He won.

I thought picking winners was easy after that. It isn't. It takes a lot of hard work, so I bought every racing book I could find and spent years studying the form, starting with hours of it after school.

I have not missed a Cheltenham Festival since I was 8. That is 53 years on the trot, and the tickets are ready again for next March.

I always wanted to be a jockey and weighed only seven and a half stone until my early twenties. I went riding but the chance never came, which is still a shame.

Life moved on. A paper round from the age of 8, seven days a week. From 13, a few hours after school at Woolworths, Monday to Friday. Then eight years in their warehouse looking after the goods and invoices. Twelve years with the council running car parks, from issuing tickets and counting the cash to managing a team of patrol officers. Then my own business, running over 800 car parks and making my own parking meters, which I still do today.

Racing never went away. I have owned racehorses with 17 winners, all in my navy and green star colours. Mister Dick winning his first chase at Stratford, Tegerek winning at Huntingdon and His Dream winning at 12/1 at Warwick on New Year's Eve, in the race we sponsored, are days I will never forget. We have had plenty of winners with our own greyhounds too. Tipping has been a passion for as long as I can remember. I have had great days and bad days, and shared them with a lot of followers and friends along the way.

Every tip here is my own, from the same form study I have been doing since school. A racehorse and greyhound syndicate is coming soon, so watch this space.

My best Super Heinz

Winners at 12/1, 7/1, 6/1, 5/1 and 7/2, all tipped on X. It made a few of my followers some very good profit.

25/1
Stardom, Golden Jacket 2019

Our own greyhound and my best greyhound bet. Backed ante post at 25/1 and won the Golden Jacket.

Questions

What time do the tips come out?

Usually the evening before, so you can get on at the early prices. I check for non-runners in the morning and post any changes before racing starts.

Do I need Telegram?

Yes, it's free on any phone or computer. It means the picks land as a notification rather than getting lost in your inbox.

Who picks the horses?

I do. Every selection is my own view after going through the form, the going and the trip. No computer models, no copying other tipsters.

How do I cancel?

Any time, through the Telegram bot or the link in your payment receipt. No notice period and no questions asked.

Will I win?

Nobody can promise that and you should be wary of anyone who does. These are my honest opinions on the day's racing. Only ever bet what you can afford to lose.

Can I put this on my phone like an app?

Yes. On iPhone, open dickieevans1.com in Safari, tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen. On Android, tap the three dots in Chrome, then Add to Home screen.

18+ only. Betting should be fun. Set a limit, stick to it and never chase losses.
